The California Young Professionals of Kiwanis is part of a new style of service clubs that caters to adults who are developing their careers, recent college graduates, traveling, or still going to school.
The goal of CAYP is to develop young adults into community leaders.
As a young professional, we are often caught up in our own lives but we still have adesire to help out in the community. CAYP offers you the opportunity to be part of something special while still focusing on your career and personal goals.
CAYP differs from traditional Kiwanis clubs because of our conference call meetings (instead of lunch or breakfast meetings), our low dues and no fines at meetings, and our emphasis on hands on service projects.CAYP was formed in 2007 by like minded individuals to help other service minded professionals be part of the exciting Kiwanis family.
A Young Professional Kiwanis Club has a focus to cater to young people who are too busy to devote time into a traditional Kiwanis club. At the same time you can still devote some time in doing real community service as well as network with others. Now by Young Professionals we mean people between the ages of 18 to 40. This age range focuses on people who are a) developing their careers b) creating a family c) traveling and d) still going to school.
Many of our members have been part of the Kiwanis Family through Key Club and Circle K. CAYP was formed so we could continue service to our community and keep strong with the Kiwanis Family.
“If this club had existed when I was young, I wouldn’t have waited 25 years to join Kiwanis.” -Randy Golden, Kiwanian
